There's Moore to the House!
John D. Rockefeller
1.
Why did Rockefeller visit the Moore House? Rockefeller before he was a huge entrepreneur, owner of one of the most profitable companies, and richest man in the United States was an assistant bookkeeper for a merchant at the age of 16. By the age of 25 he and some two of his friends heard of Colonel Edwin Drake finding an efficient way of obtaining oil through the ground and the three men went into business together originally naming their company Excelsior Oil . Rockefeller's purpose of coming to Titusville was to perform business in investing in Drake's Well that eventually led changing Excelsior Oil to into one of the biggest companies ever, Standard Oil.2
The Importance of Natural Resource:

Natural resources are on of the main contributors to the settlement and advancements of cities and transportation between cities all throughout the world. All human settlements have been based on usable resources found in the areas such as food, water, and oil. People begin to move and settle into these areas ,which lead to the start of business, small towns, and hotels. In Titusville PA, large amounts of people flashed into this town because of the abundance of Oil, which lead to the creation of the Moore House hotel.
Hotels in the Past and Trains Influences
Hotels before the 1960s when chain hotels became popular, used to exist in almost every town in the United States. But back then, the hotels were nowhere near as nice as they are today. A lot of the time, a lot of hotel rooms were very cramped with very thin walls. Also, they were shared by more than one people and did not have bathtubs or any way to clean themselves. We believe that the Moore House might have started out as a nicer hotel, but once the oil tycoons such as Rockefeller built property, it merged into a hotel for workers from all over who moved to Titusville for an opportunity to stick their riches.
Trains have been a pivotal point in the growth of towns since their creation. The railroads allowed the movement of a wider variety of goods much farther distances.” The railroad system allowed for new settlements to thrive along with the rail networks. Once the oil was struck in Titusville, trains were able to move products in an out to help extract oil, and also ship it out to be sold. This was what also help bring so many workers into the town so quick. With such a high number of people coming in and out. Titusville sprouted the need for all these people to have a place to stay. Hotels started having to be built.
