The Moore house was a hotel visited by great names such as Rockefeller shortly after the Civil War when Drake Well in Titusville, PA struck a very productive way of obtaining oil. The hotel burned down leaving behind a book keeping the logs of who stayed in this hotel called the Moore House and our question is why did these big name business people come to this site and hotel? Our prediction would be that there was great business opportunity due to the the quantity of oil being extracted so they came there not only to sleep but socialize their business. To find our answer our group of motivated Clarion students in our public history class will do research of the significance of hotels and their multiple uses during that time period.
