Checking in from Titusville

CUPublic History

Updated: Apr 28, 2019

Through communications with the staff at the Drake Well Museum and intense research by our own team members, we are well on our way to painting the picture of just what it was like to be in Titusville, Pennsylvania in the late 1800’s. We have been able to answer questions like why were people coming some so far away to be in Titusville, what brought them there, and so much more. We have also compiled data from the register at the Moore House hotel in Titusville to help us create a geographic map to help us illustrate the great distances people were willing to travel to come and take part in the fresh, new, exciting oil industry that was created by Edwin Drake and his well. Stay tuned as we bring you even more from our research and to see the completed map.
